प्रधानमंत्री बेनेट ने अपने ऑडियो संदेश में कहा है कि जो भी नागरिक 60 साल या इससे ज्यादा उम्र के हैं, वे अगले तीन से छह सप्ताह में अपना तीसरा बूस्टर डोज लगवा लें, अन्यथा वे कोरोना वायरस के गंभीर रूप से बीमार पड़ सकते हैं। जब तक उन्हें टीका नहीं लगे तब तक ऐसे लोगों को अत्यंत सावधानी बरतना चाहिए। वे घरों से बाहर न निकले व भीड़ भरे स्थानों पर न जाएं। अपने बच्चों को मास्क लगाकर ही बाहर भेजें।

बता दें, इस्राइल तीसरी लहर का सामना कर रहा है। बुधवार को 3430 नए संक्रमित मिले। इस्राइली स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के अनुसार इनमें से 250 को गंभीर खतरा है। दो सप्ताह पहले तक रोजाना नए संक्रमितों की संख्या 62 थी। हालांकि मंत्रालय का कहना है कि पिछली लहर के मुकाबले फिर भी यह संक्रमण दर कम है। इसकी वजह देश में तेजी से टीकाकरण है। संक्रमण बढ़ने के कारण इस्राइली सरकार ने देश में प्रतिबंधों को कड़ा कर दिया है। अब अमेरिका, इटली और फ्रांस से आने वालों को क्वारंटाइन किया जाएगा, भले ही उन्हें टीका लग चुका हो। हालांकि सरकार अभी सख्त लॉकडाउन से बचने का प्रयास कर रही है।
