जानकारी के अनुसार, बच्चा बीते दो जुलाई को एम्स के डी-5 वार्ड में भर्ती हुआ था। यहां हालत बिगड़ने पर उसे पहले आईसीयू और फिर वेंटिलेटर पर रखा गया, लेकिन बीते सोमवार को उसकी मौत हो गई। जांच रिपोर्ट मंगलवार दोपहर को आई तो एम्स में हड़कंप मच गया।

आनन-फानन इलाज करने वाली पूरी टीम को आइसोलेट कर दिया गया। वहीं बच्चे के सैंपल की जांच पुणे स्थित नेशनल इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ वॉयरोलॉजी (एनआईवी) और नई दिल्ली स्थित नेशनल सेंटर फॉर डिजीज कंट्रोल (एनसीडीसी) ने की और उसे पॉजिटिव बताया।

फिलहाल केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने हाई अलर्ट जारी किया है। बच्चे के पूरे परिवार और संपर्क में आने वालों को आइसोलेशन में रखा गया है। साथ ही इनकी पहचान गोपनीय रखी है। कहा जा रहा है कि जब तक सर्विलांस पूरा नहीं होगा, तब तक पहचान सार्वजनिक नहीं की जा सकती लेकिन एम्स के सूत्रों का कहना है कि बच्चा किसी बाहरी राज्य का निवासी था, वह दिल्ली का निवासी नहीं था।
