सेंट्रल दिल्ली यातायात पुलिस के आयुक्त विक्रम सिंह ने बताया कि लंबे समय से लोगों को चांदनी चौक में वाहन लेकर नहीं जाने की हिदायत दी जा रही है। इस संबंध में 14 जून को नोटिफिकेशन जारी किया गया था। यातायात पुलिस ने 16 जून से इस पर कार्रवाई शुरू की। दो दिन चांदनी चौक में वाहन लेकर आने वालों को रोककर समझाया। शनिवार से सुबह 9 से रात 9 बजे के बीच चांदनी चौक मेन रोड से फतेहपुरी मस्जिद के बीच वाहन लेकर जाने वालों को 20 हजार रुपये का चालान भुगतना होगा। चांदनी चौक बाजार के आसपास के अन्य रास्तों पर वाहन लेकर जाने वालों को भी ऐसा ही चालान भुगतना होगा। एचसी सेन मार्ग, राय केदारनाथ मार्ग, कच्चा बाग मार्ग, शांति देसाई मार्ग, नेताजी सुभाष रोड, जामा मस्जिद रोड, चावड़ी बाजार रोड, चावड़ी बाजार क्रासिंग, लाल किले के सामने से कटरा बरियां रोड, यहां से फतेहपुरी मस्जिद रोड पर वाहन लाना मना है।
