वहीं मौके पर पहुंची पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भिजवाया। जानकारी के मुताबिक,  राजगीर मिस्त्री रणजीत चौहान की पुत्री छाया (15), नंदनी (14),  चांदनी (7) तथा गांव के ही ट्रैक्टर चालक हौसला चौहान की पुत्री सोनाली के साथ बुधवार के दिन दो बजे के लगभग गांव से बाहर  बगीचे में आम  की तलाश में गई थी। इस दौरान तेज गरज के साथ बारिश होने लगी।

बारिश देखकर चारों किशोरियां बगीचे के समीप एक मड़ई में छिप गई। इसी बीच तेज गरज के साथ बिजली मडई में गिर गई। बिजली की चपेट में आने से छाया और सोनाली(16) की घटनास्थल पर मौत हो गई। जबकि नंदनी और तथा चांदनी  बुरी तरह झुलस गयी। जिन्हें उपचार हेतु 108 नंबर एंबुलेंस से चकिया स्थित जिला संयुक्त चिकित्सालय भेजा गया।सूचना मिलते ही तहसीलदार फूलचंद यादव राजस्व कर्मियों के साथ मौके पर पहुंच गए। घटना के बाद गांव में कोहराम मच गया।
